This is an odd little story. Seems Anselmo’s Coal Oven Pizzeria Restaurant in Red Hook has shut down. Pointed out by a tipster and posted on Eater, the pizzeria’s website goes into great detail about how the owner’s landlady cheated him out of his lease. I’ve come into contact with some pretty shady landlords in the hood, so nothing surprises me, but it looks like a pretty nasty fight.
Too bad, this was one of those places I’ve been itching to try out every time I pass it on the way to Fairway. The website also mentions that they’re looking for a new location, so stay tuned. Had any problems with local landlords? Tell us about it on our boards!
