Another pretty, modern, design store (ie: overpriced) is closing its doors. Abitare, on Henry St. between Atlantic and Pacific, had a “Store Closing Sale” sign up on its window when I walked by earlier this week. Though I’ve only been in once to browse, it never did look very busy. The website calls it a haven for design savvy Brooklynites, specializing in home accessories and gifts that are both chic and functional. The owners of the store did custom work as well and offered a bridal registry. But alas, I guess this just isn’t the time for timeless design. Not sure what the sale encompasses or how much of a discount is being offered, but might be a good time to take a look.
