I am an organic farmer in upstate NY. We are starting a winter vegetable CSA in Gowanus at the new BIG!NYC location @ 69 9th St.
The CSA will start January 12th and be every other week for a total of 5 distributions. Shares will be delivered on Thursdays but you can pickup your share anytime during store hours that week. A typical share consists of 1/2 bushel box of organic vegtabels: 8 lbs of root vegetables (2 lbs potatoes, 2 lbs carrots, 2lbs onions 2 lbs other random root vegetable-beets, turnips, rutabaga, watermelon radishes, etc.),
2 bunches of cooking greens
1-2 items such as brussels sprouts, cabbage, kohlrabi, napa cabbage
one farmers’ treat such as salad mix, baby spinach, pickled vegetables, apples, frozen green beans.

The 5 distributions will cost $160.
